Rom. 9:6-13

Intro.

a.A mysterious fact(一个奥秘的事实)

God’s sovereignty vs. Man’s responsibility(神掌权  vs. 人的责任)

God’s in control but man is also accountable to God(虽神掌握一切但人要对神负责。)

b.What is Paul’s grief in vv1-5?(保罗的忧伤何在？1-5节)
Most Jewish people do not believe in Jesus Christ(大部分的犹太人不相信耶稣基督。)

c.The unbelief of Israel does not nullify God’s promises to them(以色列的不信不会使神对他们的应许落空)  Ref. 2 Tim. 2:11-13(参考提后2：11-13)
In Christ everything promise of God will be fulfilled.(在基督里神一切的应许要成全)
Election is God’s selective purpose in Christ for the salvation of mankind.(拣选是，神在基督里的选择为了人类的得救)
Through chaps 9-11, we will notice how God will fulfill his promise.(从9-11章，我们会注意到神如何成全他的应许。).

1.   God keeps His promise(神守他的约)(9:6)
   Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.(Heb.13:5=Deut.31:6)(我总不撇下你，也不丢弃你。希13：5=申31：6)
   Why has not God’s word failed?(为何神的话不落空呢？)
   9:6b：For not all who are descended from Israel are truly Israel.(9:6b：因为从以色列生的，不都是以色列人。)Ref. Matt.3:7-10(看马太3:7-10)

2. Example of Isaac(以撒的例子)(9:7-9)
   9:7-8 Nature seed vs. spiritual seed(肉身的后裔 vs. 属灵的后裔)
   The children of the flesh vs. the children of promise(肉身的儿女vs.应许的儿女)
   How do Israelites think of Ishmaelites?(以色列人如何看以实玛利人呢？)

3.  Example of Jacob(雅各的例子)(9:10-13)
   9:10-11, twins are of the same mother and the father(双生子有同样的父母亲)
   How does God’s purpose in election stand?(为何神拣选人的旨意可以成全呢？)
   The older will serve the younger？(大的要服侍小的？)
   9:13, how do we understand, Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated?(9-13节，如何明白，雅各是我所爱的，以扫是我所恶的？)
   i.e. I preferred Jacob to Esau.(我爱雅各胜于以扫)
   Why did Esau despise his birthright?(为何以扫轻看长子的名分？)
   Election is not because of works but because of God’s call.(ref 8:30)(拣选是在于神的呼招不是工作，参考8：30)

Conclusion,
Predestination focuses on salvation(预定的重点在于救赎。)
We are saved by God’s grace not our goodness.(我们得救是神的恩典不是我们的好)
We ought to value our status as the children of God and work hard.(我们要看重神儿女的身分并要努力。)
Our transformation into Jesus’ own likeness is long process; but we are held the accountability toward God. (转变成耶稣形象是很长的过程，但我们要对神负责。)
Israelite abandoning God is our warning(以色列人悖逆神是我们的鉴戒。)
God is faithful to His promise; how about us?(神是守约的，那我们呢？)
